Lily Rigby’s work reveals her passion for the landscape, often in it’s most turbulent state – wild, mystical and awe-inspiring.

Working in oil, her paintings express the energy and movement of the landscape, as well as the emotion she feels when she is creating. Her pieces are formed by layers of paint, scraped back and worked up many times, which gives depth to her work. This motion also helps develop the journey her paintings go on, which is a key interest in her practice, as it reflects the ever-changing course of the landscape.

Based in Brighton, Rigby’s work has been exhibited in Bristol and across West Sussex; she is currently working towards her solo show at ONCA Gallery in Brighton this November.
